Poll Question Added to the Blog
Please note at the top right of the blog screen that a poll has been added to the blog as a way to focus on the outcomes of Discussion Assignment Two-A.
This first poll allows you to vote on how the other Digital Storytelling websites that have been found and discussed on the blog should be added to the EUODS website. Please participate in the poll by voting on the option that you agree with most. If your vote is for item 4: "I have another idea and will post a comment in which I discuss my thoughts on this", please post a follow-up comment in which you discuss your ideas.
You may also post a follow-up comment here even if you voted for one of the other items.

I think it should be placed under the major categories under example. For instance, health and medical related websites should to under the Health/Medical tab.
Jen writes that other DS websites should go under the Examples menu, so for example, sites that have health and medical stories should go under the Health/Medical tab.
This may work for some sites, but what do we do with sites that contain lots of
different kinds of digital stories, such as the BBC- Wales - Digital Storytelling site, at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/audiovideo/sites/galleries/pages/digitalstorytelling.shtml
that Deidre wrote about?
This website lists 42 different categories of stories, including Arts, Community, Food, Health, Memories, Music, Nature, School, Students and Work, to name just some.
I don't think it would work for us to list this same website under each of our example categories, so we may need to think more about this.
What do the rest of you think?
I like the idea of this choice:
New separate pages should be created and added under the "Links" menu such as "DS Sites for Teachers", "Community DS Sites", etc
It seems to me that this would give you some division but would still be broad enough to house most of the sites if not all. Teachers would use a broad variety.
The reason why I choose having a new separate page under the "Links" menu is because I get frustrated scrolling down too much to get to the end. I think it would also be more organized and with sites that are too general, you can have a section that can be called...a little of this and a little of that. Or something that would be appropriate.
I also voted for the seperate page under "Links". I agree with Tatiana that it can become a nuisance scrolling down to find the website you want to view. This would enable the viewer to search for the topic in an organized system.
Since the site has an "Examples" section already, I'd be inclined to keep all the stories categorized through that link. I'd be interested/open to creating a new "category" like:
"Digital Stores from Around the World" or something like that..
But I don't really think there should be a distinction: Since there are already categories in place, it might be easier just to publish those from outside the UH family in the same place that we publish the UH stuff - just tagged or labeled with the origin next to the entry itself, rather than creating a whole new, separate space.
This is just my two pennies, any how.

I also selected the second option of creating separate pages under 'Links'. I really liked that option as that would categorize the Digital stories according to interests or professions. We could have sublinks to that as well. For example if the link is 'DS for Teachers', then we could have stories in each of the sublinks like ESL, Foreign language, Gifted & Talented, Special needs etc. I know, this is a lot of work but then I think it would really be of use to a lot of people in a lot of different professional sectors.
