Well, Congratulations Dr. Robin. This is indeed a feather in your hat and for University of Houston. It does put the pressure on those of us trying to come up with a worthy final project, doesn't it?
Hurray! Hearty Congratulations! I feel very proud to be associated with this department. I agree L, we are under tremendous amount of pressure now.
Hi Everyone,
I must say that I'm surprised that some of you have said you feel that the MERLOT award puts more pressure on you. I certainly didn't mean this to be the case.
I hope that everyone can just try to relax a little bit. The award is a great honor but it mostly is an acknowledgment of all of the work that has gone into making this website a useful educational resource. And each of you has played a part in that work.
My hope has been and continues to be that each of you can find something interesting and meaningful about digital storytelling that you will be able to use either personally or professionally.
So, please don't feel extra pressure--just enjoy the fact that other people have seen what we are doing and have told us that they appreciate our efforts.
Hey... Dr. Robin... I probably started it. But then I must say...everything puts pressure on me. Maybe I am an overachieving average learner????? Actually, I appreciate your words and trying to calm me... It is nice to know that you are not going to use this award to turn into some psycho professor. :) I will try not to turn into some psycho student. :)
Congratulations, Dr. Robin, and all those who have contributed to building the web site. Right at first sight, I have seen that this is an exemplary web site for educatonal purposes.
I'll try not to feel the pressure as you suggested, but like Lynda and Anita, I think we all would like to come up with something worthy as a final project or some contribution to it. If this is not pressure, then more commitment?
Dr. Robin,
Congratulations!! I am so glad to see that you were acknowledged for something that you take great pride in. This award is also a representation of your expertise with technology in education.
Way to go!!
Congratulations! What a wonderful way to be acknowledged for your hard work and passion you have for DS and edcuation.
Congratulations! The Editorial Board Award is the highest award honoring exemplary models for Faculty Development category. I think this award should be placed somewhere at the top of the EUDOS website, make it visible, dignified but not too flashy. You have a diverse population of students in your class. I think you should mention this diverse student population taking your classes, to include the medical educators and how medical educators can apply digital storytelling to medical education.
From looking that the Merlot website, it looks like that you have to contribute of educational material to the website first. The educational material goes through a peer review process and is then selected for the Merlot Classics Award or the Editorial Board Award.
I think we are enjoying the fruits of your labor. You have done a lot of research on this topic and have produced a great amount of educational materials on this topic. I certainly don't feel the pressure but am enjoying the fact that I now have another tool to use to enhance the education of residents, medical students and other students who I'm mentoring. Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to work on any of my educational projects this semester due to many reasons. I'm hoping when things settle down a bit, that I will be able to produce educational material and incoporate digital storytelling on my website.
Congratulations, Dr. Robin, for a job well done!
This award serves to substantiate your hard work and attention to detail – and is a reflection of your innovative and visionary educational objectives.
I am glad you’ve allowed me to be a part of the process.
